Natural Skin Care - 5 Tips For Smooth, Youthful Skin
Natural skin care is on everyone's mind these days. Not only is following a natural skin care regimen less costly than plastic surgery and using expensive cosmetics with questionable ingredients, it can be much more effective in ensuring your skin's long-term health and suppleness.
Here are five easy tips that I guarantee will revitalize your appearance if you put them into practice.
1) Improve your diet.
This is where we can make immediate, impactful changes. For a healthier looking complexion, you'll want to adopt a diet rich in protein, complex carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, and fiber from sources such as whole grains, nuts, and seeds.
Drink plenty of water, too--at least eight glasses a day. This will increase your hydration and help purge your body of toxins.
You may also want to consider taking nutritional supplements, such as an Omega 3 fish oil, to make sure you're getting enough essential fatty acids; essential fatty acids improve your body's ability to repair damaged cells, and most of us don't get enough of these nutrients in our diets.
2) Exercise regularly.
A regular exercise routine works to improve blood flow, leading to a healthy, radiant appearance. Additionally, you'll feel better, too.
You don't have to join a health club to enjoy the benefits of exercise. Studies suggest that walking approximately 6,000 steps a day will enhance your overall health. You can accomplish this by going for a walk after lunch, after dinner, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and not fighting for that parking spot close to the supermarket entrance, but instead parking farther away and taking the walk.
3) Exfoliate.
A dry brush exfoliation will clear your skin of dead cells, boost lymph and blood circulation, and improve your body's detoxification processes. It's a powerful, natural skincare method that requires only a brush with soft bristles.
I give myself a dry brush exfoliation once a week, after I shower. It's a calming ritual that's become a cherished part of my weekly routine.
