Is there such a thing as vitamins for hair loss that will stop you balding and help you regrow new hair? In this article, I'll give you the lowdown on this commonly sought after dietary component.

Vitamin C

This vitamin is known to be good for scalp circulation. It can safely be taken in fairly high doses and some people even "mega-dose" on it for reasons other than hair loss. I recommend that you avoid mega-dosing and instead get plenty of it from citrus fruits instead.

Limitation Of Vitamins

The problem with vitamins is that they alone cannot cure you of your hair loss. They are only a small part of the overall solution. Also, there are no other known vitamins that are especially good for your hair. Your hair is made from keratin protein cells and its formation has nothing to do with the vitamins you eat.

Soya

I advise you to avoid all forms of soya. That is because it has hormone mimicking effects. Although theoretically it might actually be beneficial for hair loss, this is far from certain and in my opinion it could lead to complications. I recommend that all men avoid this like the plague.

Watch out because soya is also hidden in many processed foods and you only know it is there by reading the label carefully.

Fats

It's important to eat the right fats because the wrong fats in your diet can lead to cardiovascular disease. Quite apart from the increased risk of death from heart attack or stroke, you will also impair the ability of your hair follicles to access the nutrients they need from your bloodstream.

Eat a diet that is low in saturates and high in unsaturates. Avoid trans fats (common in many takeout and prepared foods) and eat more good fats like oily fish (or capsules). An alternative to fish oil capsules is flaxseed oil but make sure you get the cold pressed variety that you need to keep in the fridge.
