You, Your Hair, and Flat Irons
Picture this; you suddenly got a date with that hot guy with the deep, dark eyes you've wanted to get close to since forever or you've been 'volunteered' to present a crucial company report the very first thing after waking up. And we all know how chaotic morning hair is; the curls and waves and edges just getting lives of their own and bouncing all around the place.
Minus the drama, maybe you just want to smooth your hair over for that perfect sheen and gloss that you see in those CG-enhanced hair commercials. That is without having to go to your stylist every single time your hair gets even just a little bit messed up.
You're going to need some way to get control of your hair quickly, easily and effectively.
The next best thing to a stylist or a CG-enhanced video would be flat irons. No, not the flat iron your grandmother was using back in the day to iron out your clothes. Have a little mercy on your hair!
What we're talking about here is an iron for your hair. Now you've probably seen your stylist use these at one point in time, or maybe on the shelf of a hair-care store or even on a drugstore. Most of these handy little hair-irons are small enough to fit in a purse, and can be used in a jiffy to straighten out your hair for special occasions. However, make one wrong move, and your hair is going to dry up, frazzle, and at the worst, dry up and die altogether!
So here are a few pointers about flat irons and using them before you try your hand with them:
- Quality control - check where you're going to get your hair iron. Cheaper, low-quality flat irons have coatings that will quickly thin, especially with frequent use. This will increase the chances that your hair will be damaged over time. With hair irons, consider the brand you're getting: Karmin is just one brand name to consider.
- Read the instructions - Instructions exist for a reason, and unless you want to fry your bangs, your scalp, or even your fingers, read them.
- Clean your hair thoroughly - Ironing your hair when there's dirt, oil, sweat or other foreign bodies in it is a great way to ruin your hair utterly and completely. Do so if you want your hair to match your Halloween attire as the wicked witch of the west.
